Hey brother! Today I would like to casually bring up something of great importance, regarding your sexual health, spiritual, energetic, and purposeful health. Why? Because it is damn well important to be aware of. That's why... I have lately become aware of a question I get asked almost weekly, by grown adult men: "Chris, how can I stop getting wet dreams." For a young boy going through puberty, the process of experiencing occasional wet dreams(aka ejaculating during sleep) is a very healthy and normal occurrence. But, for an older developed male, this screams kidney deficiency, which if continues, can make your elder years short lived and not at your fully potent self. You see, your kidney energy in the body, is what holds your essence, life force, and jing(the energetic reserves you were born with). This powers your entire being. This is what gives you drive and ambition. It is a mirror of your sexual energy, health, vitality, fertility, and stamina. Again, this is life force energy. Many men, including myself, end up metaphorically burning the candle from both ends, assuming that he is invincible. This is a typical young man behavior. We take in masses of stress, environmental pollution, push ourselves beyond our line of health, drink alcohol, take drugs, eat badly etc. This all serves to deplete your essence over time. Awareness in your lifestyle is important to have, if you want to remain strong, happy, healthy, grounded, and sexually active into your later years. You cannot get all your burned up energy back, so be purposeful with it and keep the reserves full via conscious healthy choices. Such as the fuel you put into your body, proper rest and sleep, combined with well balanced exercise, and goal setting which is in line with your purpose. Also, dude, you need not ejaculate 9 times a day, as this is the quickest and most common way men begin to lose themselves. As an acupuncturist, I get many men in their late 20s/early 30s come into my clinic with lower back pain(typical kidney deficiency signs). Luckily, at this age, it can be treated well, and doesn't pose a huge issue once the man can start shifting his lifestyle to nourishing and filling, rather than consuming toxicity, and dispersing. As I type this, I feel feelings of hypocrisy in myself. I have lived more recklessly than most men I know for many years. Only in the past 2 years have I begun to take care of myself. As I type this, I am coming off the back of an intense fatigue that lasted almost 2 months, a huge wake up call for me. I, like many men, dive headfirst into my purpose and give myself 7 million things to get done by lunchtime, including having hours of sex. The result, is deep fucking burnout. I am grateful for the reminders. In terms of practically looking after your kidney energy, here is a response I shared with a Facebook friend in private chat, who is suffering from constant wet dreams: As an extra to the above information, massaging/rubbing your kidney area on your lower back every morning upon getting out of bed is a very powerful way to begin your day. I usually do about 30 seconds of vigorous rubbing to draw energy and warmth to the area, after I do my lower back breathing in bed. As men, our kidney energy is our sex energy. It is our powerhouse. Make sure you nurture it now, or you will regret it as you get more years under your belt. Stimulating the ears with daily massage will also benefit with your energetic potency as they are directly related to the kidneys. You don't have to even believe this, just do it. To finish up, let's list some of the ways you weaken and drain your kidney qi. Ways you send your kidneys into deficiency: Overwork- physical/mental (leading to heart problems from deficient heat rising up into the upper part of body). Excessive ejaculation. Excessive standing/walking/overuse of legs without rest. Overthinking or working in a very analytical space. Stress in general. Chilling the lower part of the body chronically(which results in women these days having much more issues getting pregnant). Any follow up questions, discuss below!
