Today, I invite you to stop and feel. Even if it is only for a few seconds. Then bring that deeper sense of awareness with you, into your external life. It’s quite easy to notice a person who is detached and hiding from themselves...It’s quite easy to notice a person who is afraid of really feeling the truth of themselves; they are in a constant sprint.
This person races around at 100 miles an hour, being busy. Being occupied. Thinking. Stressing. Planning. Worrying. Striving. This person is always doing. Everyday must be a frantic event of things to do and places to be. Common complaints are “there’s not enough hours in the day” or “I’m just so busy at the moment”. Everything they do is quick. Speaking, walking, eating, blinking. Breathing. Standing. Sitting. Thinking. Making love. It’s all a jittery and detached rush. A rush to escape their feels. Their emotions. The reality of how deeply uncomfortable they may actually be, if they allowed presence to catch them. Their way of relaxing is usually by drinking alcohol, taking drugs or binge watching television. Not for a second can they allow the reality of their life hit. I know this so well, because I was one of these people! It’s a horrendously tiring and self-punishing existence. You see, when you slow down enough, and manage to sit still for a while, everything you are running from erupts to the surface. This can be uncomfortable as fuck! Feeling what is really going on inside of you, for the first time in your busy life, can be utterly debilitating. But it is needed. You must become aware of self. You need to feel yourself so you can hear yourself. So you can love yourself. So you can give yourself exactly what you need to heal and rebuild yourself. Today, I invite you to stop and feel. Even if it is only for a few seconds. Then bring that deeper sense of awareness with you, into your external life.
